BLOOM

INTROSPECTION

WHAT IS BLOOM?

BLOOM? is a mixed media triptych exploring my transition through college with my gender identity, body dysmorphia and overall expression of my femininity and masculinity.

Using research that I gathered through self-photography, interviews and documentation I created three personas by analysing my research and identifying key themes I picked up on throughout the data.

HOW MIGHT I VISUALIZE HOW OTHER PEOPLE PERCIEVE ME AS A SELF - REFLECTIVE PRACTICE TO ENABLE FUTURE CONNECTIONS?

GOALS OF BLOOM?

1.

2.

3.

Connect with other people within the Oxford and Hamilton communities who struggle with issues of depression, body dysmorphia, gender identity, and sexuality.

Use this project as a stepping off point to do more collage-based art that reflects on people I connect with.

Build better communication skills with others while also working on unpacking my own emotions and turning them into a visual expression of how I feel about myself.

Interactivity of BLOOM

bloom also includes a part of the project that allows the viewer to interact with the exhibition by filing out a small card asking, “how do you perceive yourself” and hanging it on a small clip wire where they are displayed along with the rest of the triptych.
